It's all about respect
Karsten Moholt has a zero-tolerance policy for injuries to people and damage to the environment or assets.
The company constantly works to be better at preventing accidents and as a result is putting together an annual HSE programme that takes health, safety and the environment very seriously. Karsten Moholt was recently certified according to OHSAS 18001 Occupational health and safety management system, a certification that places strict requirements on the company in terms of training and reporting of incidents. The certificate is issued by an independent accreditation body and demonstrates to employees and interested parties that the company is taking a precautionary approach to the working environment and employee safety. The requirements outlined in OHSAS 18001 together with other HSE requirements provide a good management system for looking after not only the safety of the company's employees but also others on any site where Karsten Moholt is involved, as well as the environment.
Karsten Moholt is aiming for zero injuries and accidents and is convinced this is achievable. However, this goal requires hard work over time, which is why the company trains its employees regularly in this area and maintains a focus on this through its supervisors and department managers, who set a good example in relation to routines and attitudes. To further strengthen the focus on this area, an internally developed HSE e-learning course has just been completed. The e-learning course looks at basic HSE as well as special internal HSE requirements.
Karsten Moholt is well on the way to achieving zero injuries. In recent years the number of unwanted incidents and accidents has been very low. However, the company understands that this work is never finished and that there can be no respite when working with HSE if you are to achieve results.
